Don Bluth Studios
NOTE: This article is 3 years old and may not include the most recent information.

Don Bluth, 82 wants to bring cartoon animation to another renaissance. Much like he did in the 1980s and 1990s, Bluth wants to pull back from the current trend of CGI computer animation and help future animators along the way by making everything his studio does transparent letting everyone follow the process of making an animated feature.

For those who are not familiar with Don Bluth, he is known for such classics as The Secret of NIMH, An American Tail, The Land Before Time, All Dogs Go to Heaven, Anastasia and hand-drawn video game sensation Dragon’s Lair.

Read the official statement below:

“Don Bluth is teaming up with Lavalle Lee from TraditionalAnimation.com to create brand new content from the newly formed Don Bluth Studios, LLC. This new company is going to be establishing NEW characters, NEW ideas and NEW cartoons. We believe the public is craving another renaissance of hand drawn animation. Our goal is to make that dream become a reality.”

“Our company will be VERY transparent, showcasing and updating the public with concept art, pencil tests, model sheets, animatics, and much much more. We are excited to show everyone what we have been working on. Please join us in our new adventure!”
