That’s not all, folks! In a major win for classic animation fans, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has officially become the “ongoing television home” for the legendary Looney Tunes library. This exciting news comes after hundreds of iconic shorts were previously removed from streaming platforms, leaving fans wondering where they could reliably find their favorite characters.

The new deal is a massive six-year agreement that brings more than 750 animated films to the network. This includes the beloved antics of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, and the rest of the Acme-loving gang.

The fun officially kicks off on February 2 at 8 p.m. PT. TCM is starting things off in style by featuring Bugs Bunny as their “Star of the Month.” The programming begins with the 1940 classic A Wild Hare, which is famous for being the first official appearance of the rascally rabbit.

What makes this move special is how TCM plans to showcase these cartoons. Rather than just airing them in random blocks, the network is using its signature curated approach. Throughout early February, 45 different shorts will be paired with full-length feature films that share similar themes or influences. For example, the musical masterpiece What’s Opera Doc? will be paired with the classic A Night at the Opera, and the pirate-themed Buccaneer Bunny will lead into Mutiny on the Bounty.

TCM executives noted that this move allows the library to be presented with the care and historical context it deserves. While February focuses heavily on Bugs, the cartoons will remain a staple on the channel for years to come, with some shorts even being branded as “TCM Premieres.”

This announcement leads right into TCM’s popular “31 Days of Oscar” programming, which starts February 13 and runs through the Academy Awards on March 15. It looks like it’s going to be a very busy and nostalgic season for fans of classic Hollywood.
