Season 4 Highlights
Created by Dallas Jenkins, “The Chosen” continues to explore the life of Jesus through the eyes of those who knew him. Season 4 is described as a period of clashing kingdoms and rising tensions, as religious leaders ally with Roman authorities in response to Jesus’ growing influence. The narrative promises intense drama as Jesus’ followers face increasing opposition, betrayal, and violence.
Creator’s Insights
Dallas Jenkins revealed in a YouTube video that Season 4 encountered delays due to legal matters, which are hopefully being resolved. He noted that this season will depict Jesus as weary and increasingly frustrated as he gets closer to Jerusalem. The series aims to capture the emotional and spiritual struggles leading up to Holy Week.
Jenkins also mentioned that Season 4 marks the midpoint of the series’ planned seven-season run, promising it will be both painful and joyous. He teased that Season 5 will focus on the most famous week in human history, while Season 6 will cover a single day in Jesus’ life.
Production and Distribution
“The Chosen” is an independent production written, directed, and produced by Jenkins, distributed globally by Lionsgate. The series’ innovative approach has contributed to its widespread acclaim and dedicated fan base.
