Natalie Portman stars in the upcoming film ‘May December’ as a TV star researching a controversial real-life romance for a movie project.
The newly released trailer offers a first look at Portman in the role. She plays a character who visits a now-married couple whose scandalous older woman/younger man relationship made tabloid headlines decades ago, evoking similar real-life scandals.
Of course, Portman’s prying into the couple’s past appears to bring up repressed emotions. She stars alongside Julianne Moore and Charles Melton as the former scandalous lovers.
Acclaimed director Todd Haynes helms this drama examining the lingering impacts from the scandal years later. The film gained interest after its Cannes premiere, with Netflix obtaining distribution rights.
Audiences can see Portman take on an intriguing role when ‘May December’ hits theaters in November, before its Netflix debut in December.
