HBO Max appears to be attempting to spread holiday cheer with this announcement. “A Christmas Story Christmas” is directed by Clay Kaytis and produced by Irwin Zwilling, Marc Toberoff, Cale Boyter, Jay Ashenfelter, Peter Billingsley, and Vince Vaughn. In the new film, Ralphie must deal with Christmas and all that it entails as a father for the first time. Ralphie is played again by Peter Billingsley. Erin Hayes, Julianna Layne, River Drosche, RD Robb, and Scott Schwartz co-star, as do Zack Ward and Julie Hagerty.

Since 1997, when TNT started showing an annual marathon of the beloved movie, A Christmas Story has become a holiday tradition. On Christmas Eve, both TNT and its sister station TBS start the 24-hour marathon.
