Singer-songwriter and actor Ava Ro, known online as @missavaro, has officially released her new single “Stop This Flight,” now available everywhere on all major music streaming services. The artist shared the news with fans through an Instagram post celebrating the song’s arrival.
In her own words, Ava Ro described the deeply personal origins behind the track. She wrote the song during a period when she believed she had to leave behind a brand new relationship in order to film a project elsewhere. That decision came wrapped in conflicting emotions, the bittersweet pull of wanting to stay paired with the quiet hope that the person she was leaving would come and stop her flight before she boarded.
Ava Ro framed the song with characteristic warmth and a touch of humor, acknowledging how dramatic the situation sounds while embracing it fully. She described “Stop This Flight” as her cute little love song about long distance relationships, and made clear how much the track means to her.
The Canadian performer has built a long resume across screens of all sizes. Ava Ro starred as the title lead, Erin, in Nickelodeon’s music-driven comedy series Erin & Aaron, and appeared as Kyla in the international coming-of-age series Home Sweet Rome. Her earlier credits include roles on Big Top Academy, Holly Hobbie, and Take Note, along with extensive voice work in children’s animation. She is also a member of the Juno-nominated group GEN:ZED, formerly GFORCE, which reached the quarter-finals on season fourteen of America’s Got Talent.
These days, Ava Ro is leading a new project that lives entirely online. She recently began starring as the title character in Lila Goes Viral, a YouTube web series about a quirky teen who becomes internet famous overnight after posting a song she wrote, blending original music with a lighthearted spin on climate awareness. The series gives fans another window into the songwriting that runs through so much of her work.
For listeners drawn to heartfelt songwriting rooted in real emotional experience, “Stop This Flight” offers a glimpse into a moment of longing and difficult choices set to music. Ava Ro is encouraging everyone to stream the single now wherever they listen to music.
