The official soundtrack details for Scream 7 have finally slashed through the noise, confirming exactly how Mckenna Grace fits into the film’s sonic landscape. While the actress is already set to star in the upcoming sequel, her musical contribution is a high-profile collaboration that leans heavily into the franchise’s horror roots.
On February 6, Paramount Pictures and the official Scream social media accounts announced a month-long “musical kill count,” rolling out four original songs leading up to the film’s release. Mckenna Grace is featured on a track titled “Twisting the Knife” by the horror-themed metalcore band Ice Nine Kills. This collaboration is a major nod to the fans, as Ice Nine Kills has long been associated with the horror community, even previously referencing the Scream franchise in their own work.
The rollout schedule for the original songs is as follows:
- February 13: “Rearranging Scars” by Sueco
- February 19: “Twisting the Knife” by Ice Nine Kills feat. Mckenna Grace
- February 27: “Criminal” by Jessie Murph
- February 27: “The Kill” by Stella Lefty
Beyond the original songs, the film also sees the return of legendary composer Marco Beltrami, who scored the first four Scream films. Recent reports confirm Beltrami has recorded the score in Budapest, which includes a haunting new arrangement of the iconic “Sidney’s Lament” titled “Mrs. Evans’ Lament”—a reference to Sidney Prescott’s married name in the new film.
By participating in “Twisting the Knife,” Mckenna Grace continues her tradition of contributing music to her acting projects, following her previous work on the Ghostbusters: Afterlife soundtrack. With “Twisting the Knife” set to debut on February 19, fans won’t have to wait long to hear how Grace’s vocals mesh with the theatrical, aggressive sound of Ice Nine Kills.
