⚠️ Spoiler Warning: This article contains details from Season 2 of Wednesday, including major plot developments.
Season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday delivers two unforgettable musical moments in Episode 6 and Episode 7—each standing out in its own right and now capturing fan conversations everywhere.
Blackpink’s “Boombayah” Powers a Freaky Friday Body-Swap Moment
Episode 6 features a striking Freaky Friday-style body swap between Wednesday and Enid. Enid, now in Wednesday’s body, bursts into the Nevermore courtyard in bright colors—a sharp contrast to Wednesday’s gothic palette—and Blackpink’s hit “Boombayah” blasts over the scene. The track was written directly into the script to capture the playful, dramatic energy of the transformation.
The Enid & Agnes Dance: A Viral, Choreographed Show-Stopper
In Episode 7, the gala sequence shifts the focus to a lively dance between Enid and Agnes set to Lady Gaga’s “The Dead Dance.” The moment quickly went viral online, with outlets like Los 40 describing it as one of the season’s most talked-about highlights.
Both Emma Myers and Evie Tempelton have recently shared behind-the-scenes details about the sequence. In an interview with CinemaBlend, Templeton explained that the choreography even included an Addams Family Easter egg:
“In terms of Easter eggs… we reference Thing when we do, like, the crawl across [our arm]. That was kind of the inspiration behind that.”
Myers emphasized that they intentionally didn’t borrow from the viral Season 1 dance:
“We didn’t take anything from Season 1. We weren’t trying to recreate any viral moments… we worked with an amazing choreographer named Corey [Baker]… we both come from dance backgrounds, so it was nice to tap into that again.”
The two also revealed they rehearsed for about two weeks, with costume adjustments made so they could move freely. They filmed multiple takes to perfect the “invisible lift” effect, relying on both stunts and clever editing to bring the choreography to life.
Why These Moments Stand Out
By blending a global K-pop anthem with a show-stopping dance sequence, Wednesday Season 2 highlights how music isn’t just atmosphere but a driver of storytelling. From Blackpink’s “Boombayah” to Lady Gaga’s “The Dead Dance,” these sequences prove once again how the series thrives on bold, unexpected choices that stick with audiences long after the credits roll.
All eight episodes of Wednesday Season 2 are now streaming on Netflix.
