Wednesday Season 2 introduces several intriguing new faces to Nevermore Academy, but few have sparked as much curiosity as Agnes DeMille. Played by 16-year-old British actress Evie Templeton, Agnes arrives with an unsettling mix of presence and menace, and a power that makes her one of the most unpredictable students on campus — invisibility.

Agnes’s storyline centers around her intense fixation on Wednesday Addams, which teeters on the edge of obsession. Her presence quickly disrupts the delicate balance of relationships within Nevermore, creating tension not just with Wednesday herself but also with those closest to her.

Landing the role of Agnes marked a major career breakthrough for Templeton, who was born in Barbados and trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Before stepping into the gothic halls of Nevermore, she appeared in the horror film Lord of Misrule, the BBC’s Life After Life, and lent her voice to the character of Laura in the recent remake of Silent Hill 2.

Templeton’s audition process for Wednesday was as distinctive as the character she now embodies. After submitting a standout self-tape, she was invited for chemistry reads with Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) and Emma Myers (Enid). The dynamic between the trio was immediate, helping to shape how Agnes would interact within the story’s central relationships.

To fully capture Agnes’s eerie allure, Templeton built a personal mood board and studied unconventional personalities for inspiration. She worked closely with the costume and hair departments to finalize Agnes’s distinctive look, which included a wig over her own dyed hair. Several of Agnes’s signature traits — such as her deliberate slow clap and unnerving curtsy — came directly from Templeton’s creative input during rehearsals.

In interviews, Templeton has described the experience of joining Wednesday as both surreal and thrilling. She contrasted her own grounded personality with the character’s more obsessive tendencies, admitting she enjoys slipping into Agnes’s darker mindset for the role. Despite her breakout success, she remains focused on her craft, balancing life as a rising star with the normal rhythms of being a teenager.

With her captivating performance, Templeton’s Agnes DeMille adds a fresh layer of intrigue to Wednesday Season 2. Whether viewers find her unsettling, fascinating, or a little of both, it’s clear that this new character is destined to leave a lasting impression on the Addams universe.
