In a major streaming shake-up, a significant portion of the beloved “Looney Tunes” library is making a new home on Tubi. The move is part of a substantial content agreement between the free, ad-supported streaming service and Warner Bros. Discovery, which has increasingly licensed its extensive catalog to third-party platforms.

Fans of classic animation can look forward to the arrival of the original theatrical “Looney Tunes” shorts, which began their historic run in 1930, on Tubi starting this August. This follows the addition of more modern series to the platform back on April 1. Viewers can already stream all episodes of “The Looney Tunes Show” (2011-2014) and the fan-favorite “The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries” (1995-2000).

The content shift comes after the titles were removed from Warner Bros. Discovery’s own streaming service, Max. While Tubi is becoming the new destination for a large chunk of “Looney Tunes” history, the move isn’t entirely exclusive. Spin-offs like “Baby Looney Tunes” and the newer “Tiny Toons Looniversity” are expected to remain available on Max for the time being.

This licensing deal marks a significant strategy shift for Warner Bros. and makes a vast collection of animation history accessible to a wider audience, completely free of charge.
