Take Flight with Illumination’s Whimsical New Comedy “Migration”

NOTE: This article is 1 year old and may not include the most recent information.

Pack your bags and get ready to migrate along with the Wingate family this holiday season in Illumination’s newest animated comedy adventure “Migration.” Hitting theaters next Friday, December 22nd, this lighthearted film from director Benjamin Renner and co-director Guylo Homsy promises to be a fun family crowd-pleaser.

“Migration” chronicles the journeys of a family of ducks led by overprotective father Frank Wingate (voiced by Keegan-Michael Key). Eager to get out from under his father’s wing, teenage son Sebastian (Kumail Nanjiani) convinces the family to finally take the vacation they’ve always quacked about. Their feather-raising road trip adventure takes them from the ponds of New England through the hustling streets of New York City all the way to the beaches of Jamaica!

Along the way, the Wingates meet colorful characters and encounter wild scenarios that teach them lessons about independence, facing fears, and the unbreakable bonds of family. Awkwafina lends her voice to the role of streetwise city duck Mikka, with Elizabeth Banks playing mom Marcia keeping the family fabulous, and cameos from the likes of Leslie Jones, Pete Davidson, and more.

Renner brings his sweet traditional animation style to the computer-generated medium, matched with a lively soundtrack from composer John Powell. Rated PG, “Migration” promises to entertain viewers of all ages with its blend of humor, spectacular visuals, and touching themes about self-discovery. Don’t miss this heartwarming and hilarious new holiday film that shows home is wherever your flock is.
