After five seasons, the Freeform drama ‘Good Trouble’ is ending its run. The show, which is a spinoff of the series The Fosters, follows foster sisters Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) as they embark on adventures in Los Angeles.
On Friday, Mitchell and Ramirez, who also serve as executive producers on the show, took to Instagram to commemorate the series finale. Mitchell posted a photo with her co-star and wrote, “10 years of making TV with my best friend. Could not be more proud of you [Cierra Ramirez].”
Ramirez shared her own heartfelt post, saying “So many emotions right now after hearing that our beloved show, Good Trouble, has come to an end. The greatest one of all, being gratitude.” She went on to call her character Mariana her “favorite piece of work” that helped start important conversations and inspired people.
Ramirez also reflected on the impact of playing Mariana for over 10 years, saying “I can’t tell if there’s a part of me in you, or if you ARE me at this point.” She said she will carry her character’s resilience and willingness to help others.
Both actresses thanked the entire ‘Good Trouble’ team, with Ramirez singling out the crew as the “TRUE stars of the series.”
The final episodes of ‘Good Trouble’ will begin airing on Freeform starting January 2nd, bringing closure to the stories of the Foster sisters. After five seasons of laughter, tears and inspiration, the beloved series says its goodbyes.
