Reneé Rapp took to the stage on Good Morning America to perform her chart-topping single, “Too Well,” from her debut EP, “Everything to Everyone.” The rising star also spoke with Michael Strahan about her upcoming projects, including the highly-anticipated movie musical adaptation of Mean Girls, where she reprises her role as Regina George from the Broadway production.
During the interview, Rapp shared that she’s currently filming the Mean Girls movie musical and provided an update on their progress. “I’m so tired. It’s so good. It’s so exciting. Mean Girls came out when I was like three or four so I feel like this is my generation’s excitement around Mean Girls, so it’s cool,” Rapp said.
Rapp also teased her upcoming music, describing it as “unfiltered” and “dangerous.” She also mentioned the recent deluxe edition of her EP, “Everything to Everyone.”
In the Mean Girls movie musical, Rapp stars alongside a talented cast that includes Angourie Rice as Cady Heron, Auli’i Cravalho as Janis, Jaquel Spivey as Damian, Avantika as Karen Smith, Bebe Wood as Gretchen Wieners, and Christopher Briney as Aaron Samuels. The film also features appearances by Busy Philipps as Mrs. George and Jenna Fischer as Ms. Heron. Tina Fey and Tim Meadows are set to reprise their roles from the original 2004 movie.
In addition to her work in theatre and film, Rapp can also be seen in Mindy Kaling’s original comedy series, The Sex Lives of College Girls on HBO Max. With her impressive range of talent and her growing fanbase, Reneé Rapp is definitely an artist to watch in the coming years.
