Pedro Pascal, who stars alongside Bella Ramsey in HBO’s “The Last of Us,” is set to make his hosting debut on the iconic “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) show. Coldplay will also be joining the episode as musical guests. In the first promo for this highly anticipated episode, Pedro is seen walking through Studio 8H when they hear what appears to be a Clicker, one of the infected forms from “The Last of Us”.

Being the protective character that he portrays in the series, Pedro quickly grabs a hammer to defend against the zombie. However, he is stopped by SNL’s Sarah Sherman and Molly Kearney who reveal that what Pedro thought was a Clicker was actually the show’s newest castmember, Matt. The SNL duo offers some advice to Pedro, “Don’t hit the castmembers with a hammer, you maniac.”

Pedro, who plays Joel in HBO Max’s highly successful video game adaptation, has spoken about his love for playing protective characters. He mentioned that although he doesn’t have children of his own, playing these characters has allowed him to understand the vulnerability that comes with being a caregiver.

Fans can catch Pedro Pascal and Coldplay on “Saturday Night Live” on February 4th at 11:30 p.m. on NBC and streaming live on Peacock.
