On Thursday, Tegan and Sara shared an inspiring message on Instagram reflecting on the past year and looking ahead to the future. It’s been quite a year for the twin sisters, who released their tenth studio album, Crybaby, and took it on tour. Making the album was a “true joy” for the sisters, who said that it “renewed our commitment to music, inspired us to collaborate with each other more, and ignited a desire in each of us to tour again.” Bringing Crybaby to the stage was also a “phenomenal amount” of fun.

The sisters expressed their gratitude towards the many people who helped bring the album and show to life, saying, “The list of people to thank for helping us bring the album and our show to life is long and we’ve tagged and talked about most of them in the past few months but we want to give a general THANK YOU to all of them. We love you and appreciate you so much.”

Tegan and Sara also reflected on the fact that they’ve been able to make a living as artists for 25 years, saying, “We are beyond lucky to get to make stuff for a living. We are dumbfounded how we’ve managed to pull off TWENTY FIVE YEARS of being artists as our JOB. Truly. It’s solely because we are surrounded by so many incredible collaborators and artists and five star humans.”

The sisters also expressed their appreciation for their fans, saying, “While managers, and record labels and agents, and photographers, and hair and make up artists and designers and lawyers and the crew and the band and the engineers and publicists work tirelessly behind the scenes to get art into the world, we are nothing without listeners, watchers, readers, and supporters like you all. You have a lot of amazing choices out there of what to watch, listen and support and you choose us to support by showing up and streaming and sending love and that means the world to us. Thank you.”

Looking towards the future, Tegan and Sara mentioned that they have some special projects in the works for 2023, including a tour and a graphic novel called Junior High, set to be released in the spring. The sisters ended the message by saying, “Thank you thank you thank you for everything.”

The message serves as a reminder of the hard work and dedication that goes into making and sharing art, and the importance of appreciation and gratitude. Tegan and Sara are looking forward to what the future holds and are excited to share their plans with their fans. Stay tuned for updates on their upcoming projects.
