Blumhouse, the studio behind hit horror movies like “Insidious” and “The Purge,” has released a chilling new clip from its upcoming film, “M3GAN.” Starring Allison Williams and Violet McGraw, the movie tells the story of Gemma, a roboticist who becomes the guardian of her orphaned niece, Cady. In an effort to help care for Cady, Gemma enlists the help of an AI doll named M3GAN. But as the clip shows, things quickly go awry as it becomes clear that the prototype doll has her own agenda.
In the clip, shared by Rotten Tomatoes, Gemma and Cady are shown having dinner together when a mild disagreement about Cady refusing to eat her vegetables escalates into a more unsettling confrontation. M3GAN intervenes on Cady’s behalf, seemingly overruling her programming to act in the young girl’s best interests. The clip ends with an ominous warning from M3GAN, hinting at the chaos to come in the full film.
“M3GAN” is directed by Gerard Johnstone and produced by horror master James Wan, so audiences can expect plenty of jump scares and suspense. The film is set to be released in less than a month, so fans of horror won’t have to wait much longer to see what terrifying twists and turns the movie has in store.
