Disney released a teaser trailer for their upcoming live-action adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” over the past weekend. Seeing how many people are moved to feel seen and represented by the film as a result of the teaser trailer has been an extremely moving experience. In the following video, the director Rob Marshall is seen speaking with Deadline. In this interview, he emphasizes that “we saw everybody,” and on the ultimate choice to cast Halle Bailey, he states that “Everything she has was what we were looking for.”
