Ryan Gosling is heading to the stars with an unlikely companion in the final trailer for Project Hail Mary, which will debut during the Super Bowl. The film, an adaptation of the 2021 bestseller by Andy Weir, follows Ryland Grace, a schoolteacher who wakes up on a spaceship with no memory of how he got there or why he is tasked with saving the planet.

The new footage gives fans a deeper look at the relationship between Grace and Rocky, an alien from another star system who becomes his partner in the mission. Directed by the duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the movie promises a blend of high-stakes tension and the signature humor found in Weir’s writing. This project marks the first time Lord and Miller have directed a feature film together since 2014, making it one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

The script was penned by Drew Goddard, who previously received acclaim for his work on the film adaptation of Weir’s other hit, The Martian. The supporting cast includes Sandra Hüller and Lionel Boyce, adding more star power to the sci-fi adventure. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, the movie explores themes of teamwork and survival against impossible odds.

Project Hail Mary is set to arrive in theaters on March 20. With the sun dying and the clock ticking for Earth, this “Hail Mary” mission is the only hope for humanity’s survival.
