The streamer shared the portraits Monday through a joint Instagram post from @primebookclub and @primevideo, captioned “Roll call. Next Wednesday, class is in session.”
The seven portraits are all school side: the students and staff of Ewen High, led by Summer H. Howell as Carrie White and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle. The series’ wider ensemble also includes Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Totah as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, and Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, as TDN reported when the full trailer arrived.
Each portrait is styled like a school yearbook photo, complete with a school crest in the corner, a fitting touch for a story that lives and dies in the halls of its high school. The Ewen name comes straight from King’s novel, which also set the story at Thomas Ewen Consolidated High School. The 1976 film, by contrast, renamed it Bates High School.
All eight episodes of Carrie arrive Wednesday, October 7 on Prime Video. Mike Flanagan wrote and executive produces the series as showrunner, with Stephen King also executive producing, and Amazon MGM Studios producing.
