Netflix surprised fans today with the first official marketing for Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew, a new animated logo and a behind-the-scenes image shared on the streamer’s official channels, as highlighted by What’s on Netflix.
The behind-the-scenes image shows writer-director Gerwig bundled in a tweed coat beside an ARRI film camera on a practical period London street set complete with vintage cars and costumed extras.
The new logo reads “A Film by Greta Gerwig” above a colorful storybook-style NARNIA with THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW beneath it, a clean break from the Walden Media era design.

The film opens in theaters worldwide on February 12, 2027, written and directed by Gerwig from C. S. Lewis’s novel, the first time The Magician’s Nephew, the chronologically first Narnia book, has been adapted for the big screen.
The animated logo debuted on Netflix’s Instagram:
The ensemble includes Emma Mackey, Daniel Craig, Carey Mulligan, and Meryl Streep as the voice of Aslan, with newcomers David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell as Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer.
