Five Nights at Freddy’s Is Getting a Real Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza in 2027

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza is stepping off the screen and into the real world. American Dream, the sprawling entertainment and retail complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, confirmed Saturday that it is building a fully immersive Five Nights at Freddy’s restaurant and attraction, with a target opening sometime in 2027. The announcement arrived with new promotional artwork showing an animated Freddy waving beside the neon Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza marquee, tagged with the line “Freddy’s is coming to life,” which is exactly the pitch American Dream is making.

American Dream is partnering directly with ScottGames, the studio behind the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, to translate the game’s world into a physical space. A spokesperson framed the project as the debut of the first permanent, fully immersive restaurant experience built around the franchise. Don Ghermezian, chief executive officer of American Dream, said fans have spent years imagining what it would actually feel like to walk inside Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, and that his company is thrilled to be the one bringing that world to life. Atreyu Alcantar, the creative manager overseeing licensing and location-based entertainment at American Dream and the creative lead on the project, added that the team is not building a set that merely looks like Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. They are building Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza itself, with an animatronic show that has to feel authentic and food that has to hold up on its own.

The attraction is being planned as a fast-casual dining spot layered with arcade games and two separate animatronic stage shows, one featuring Freddy and the Fazbear Band on the Main Stage and another featuring Foxy the Pirate in Pirate Cove. For guests who want something with more of an edge, there will also be horror-inspired multiplayer game experiences tucked behind the curtain, a nod to the night-shift survival gameplay that built the franchise’s reputation in the first place.

It is a full-circle moment for a series that has been colliding with real-world pizzerias since long before anyone official signed off on it. Years ago, a real restaurant called Freddie’s Pizzeria in Long Branch, New Jersey found itself buried under hundreds of prank calls a day from kids convinced it was secretly connected to the game, despite the franchise’s own statements that every location was fictional. Now, more than a decade into Five Nights at Freddy’s cultural run, New Jersey is finally getting the genuine article, official animatronics and all.
