It is always exciting to report on major career moves for actors we have watched grow up on screen, and Alyvia Alyn Lind has just landed a massive new role. According to an exclusive report coming out of Deadline today, Alyvia has been cast as a lead in the upcoming FX limited series, Cry Wolf.
The series is created by Sarah Treem and is described as a psychological family thriller. It is inspired by the Danish series Ulven Kommer. Alyvia will be taking on the role of Mia, a teenager whose actions set the entire plot in motion. The story kicks off when Mia alleges abuse, a claim that thrusts her family into a crisis. This situation pushes her mother and a social worker to their absolute limits as they try to navigate the fallout.
The cast surrounding Alyvia is incredibly stacked. Brie Larson is set to play her mother, April, and Olivia Colman will play the social worker, Kath. Additionally, Shawn Hatosy has been cast as April’s husband and Mia’s stepfather, who is the person at the center of the abuse allegations.
This sounds like an incredibly intense and dramatic role, but Alyvia has certainly built up the resume to handle it. She has been very busy lately, recently starring in the Netflix thriller Wayward and playing a lead in the Syfy horror series Chucky. Between those projects and her past work in The Spiderwick Chronicles, Daybreak, and her Critics Choice Award-nominated performance as a young Dolly Parton, she has shown great versatility. Seeing her act opposite award-winning talent like Larson and Colman will be a must-watch event.
