Trevor Decker News readers are no strangers to Mckenna Grace and her impressive career. Known for her talent and versatility, Mckenna recently opened up about her next big project: starring as Clara in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s emotional novel Regretting You.
Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball, Mckenna, 18, shared her enthusiasm for the story, which explores themes of grief and love. “It’s about grief and a girl who loses her father and then a mom who loses her husband. But it’s also a love story,” she explained. Adding to her excitement is the chance to work with one of her closest friends, Mason Thames, who plays Miller in the film. Read the full interview here.
Another highlight for Mckenna is the opportunity to portray a mother-daughter dynamic alongside Allison Williams, even though they’ve yet to meet. “I’ve heard the loveliest things about her,” McKenna shared, expressing her admiration for the Get Out actress.
Mckenna revealed that her initial connection to the project came through the script, not knowing it was based on a bestselling novel. Once cast, she quickly dove into the book, annotating and bookmarking to better understand Clara, a role she described as a deeply exciting challenge.
While preparing for filming, set to begin in early 2025 under director Josh Boone, Mckenna is also balancing her flourishing music career. Performing hits like “Buzzkill Baby” at the Jingle Ball Village, she emphasized her dedication to both acting and music, proving her passion for excelling in both fields.
