Plankton Gets His Own Netflix Movie in 2025

Netflix has announced that Plankton, the antagonist from “SpongeBob SquarePants,” will star in his own movie. The announcement was made during Netflix’s Next on Netflix Animation press drop. The film, titled Plankton: The Movie, is set to be released in 2025.

About the Movie

Plankton: The Movie will focus on Plankton, who operates the Chum Bucket restaurant with his wife and sidekick, Karen, a waterproof computer. In the movie, Plankton’s latest plan for world domination is disrupted, leading to unforeseen challenges.

Creative Team and Voice Cast

The movie is directed by Dave Needham. The executive producers are Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller. The story and screenplay are written by Mr. Lawrence, with contributions from Kaz and Chris Viscardi. The voice cast includes Mr. Lawrence, Jill Talley, Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence, Clancy Brown, and Rodger Bumpass.

Music and Songs

The music for the film is composed by Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper, with Karyn Rachtman and Otis Ratchman as music supervisors. Original songs are written by Bret McKenzie, Linda Perry, and Mark Mothersbaugh & Bob Mothersbaugh.

Plankton: The Movie will be available on Netflix in 2025.
