Veteran TV host Ryan Seacrest is set to take over as host of “Wheel of Fortune” starting in September 2024, taking the reins from longtime host Pat Sajak.
Seacrest has expressed his intent to honor the show’s legacy and avoid unnecessary changes. “You don’t mess with it, just don’t mess with it,” he stated in an interview.
Importantly, Vanna White will remain in her iconic role as co-host and letter-turner. White has been a beloved fixture on the show since 1982, and she has extended her contract through 2025-2026. Seacrest said he is excited to work with White, stating “I can’t wait” during a recent TV appearance.
While Sajak’s retirement concludes his legendary run, the selection of Seacrest appears designed for a seamless transition. With his broadcasting chops and enthusiasm for the show, Seacrest seems poised to bring fresh energy while maintaining the essence of the treasured game show.
The changing of the guard to Seacrest may allow for some new twists, but with White remaining in her familiar role, the show’s spirit and appeal looks secure. Viewers can likely expect their favorite “Wheel” traditions to continue uninterrupted when Seacrest first takes the stage in 2024.
