It’s time to get excited because Mckenna Grace, known for her outstanding performance in “A Friend of the Family,” has been announced as the lead in Alloy Entertainment’s upcoming teen romance, “99 Days”. Based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Katie Cotugno, this film is already generating a lot of buzz.
Grace, who we all remember for her role as Esther Keyes in Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” has proven her incredible talent at a young age, even making history as the youngest-ever nominee in a Guest Actor category at the Emmys. More recently, she has been impressing audiences in Peacock’s true-crime limited series “A Friend of the Family.”
In ’99 Days’, Grace will play the character of Molly, who finds herself in a complicated love triangle during a summer at Star Lake. Stuck there for 99 days, she must navigate relationships with the boy whose heart she broke and his brother. Asher Angel, well-known for his role in the ‘Shazam!’ films, will be playing the character of Gabe, the brother of the boy whose heart was broken by Molly.
Alloy Entertainment’s Elysa Koplovitz Dutton expressed enthusiasm about Grace’s casting, stating, “Molly is a character audiences will see in themselves and fall in love with.” With Mckenna’s proven ability to bring characters to life, there is no doubt that she will do justice to the character of Molly.
Directed by Martha Stephens of “To the Stars” fame, and following Alloy’s successful YA romance “Purple Hearts”, “99 Days” is shaping up to be another standout in the young adult genre. With Mckenna Grace at the helm, the film promises to be a relatable and captivating story for audiences to enjoy.
