Peter Billingsley Opens Up About “A Christmas Story” Sequel and Reprising His Role As “Ralphie”

On November 17, HBO Max will premiere “A Christmas Story Christmas” the widely anticipated sequel to the holiday classic “A Christmas Story.” Peter Billingsley,, is back in the movie to play the main character, Ralphie. His performance has become a cultural classic. In a new look behind the scenes of the film, Billingsly talks about reprising the role, as well as other aspects of the film and what it means to him.

The original “A Christmas Story” has been shown in 24-hour marathons on TNT and TBS on Christmas Eve for a number of years, which has contributed to the film’s status as a cult holiday classic. In the first movie, which takes place in the 1940s, Ralphie, is on a mission to get a Red Ryder BB rifle as a present. In the sequel, which will be set in the 1970s, Ralphie now a father himself is determined to give his own children the kind of Christmas that his own father would be proud of.
