Areli Castro, better known as alt-pop singer KiNG MALA, has just released her sophomore EP, Honey Catching Season, on Handwritten Records. Honey Catching Season is a 7-song collection that reflects the idea of radical self-acceptance by taking listeners to a place of deep personal renewal. Areli Castro, originally from El Paso and now located in Los Angeles, is the person behind KiNG MALA.
In addition to the new album, a new music video for the song “martyr” will also be available for viewing above.
“I’ve spent the past 24 years coming to terms with who I am, my past, my mental illness, my body, my sexuality, my failures, my wins, my career, my love life and everything in between,. For me, these songs are about finding a way to love myself through any means necessary.”
These brand-new songs are now being performed by KiNG MALA across the United States while supporting UPSAHL, who is also featured on the EP. You can find the complete schedule for the tour down below.
