Alma Deutscher, the 15-year-old English pianist and composer who performed in the United States at Carnegie Hall in 2019, has released her latest composition based on a poem by Longfellow, with a refrain Alma added.
“As the world enters a dark winter, I thought we all need tiding of comfort and joy, Alma said in a written message at the beginning of the video. “So here is a new Christmas carol that I composed.”
Check out the video below.
Words provided below:
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet, the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to all!
Ring out, oh bells, ring peace on earth,
Ring tidings of comfort and joy.
Now ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to all!
Ring out, oh bells, ring peace on earth,
Ring tidings of comfort and joy.
