DreamWorks Animation has released an in-depth look at the making of their upcoming animated film, “The Wild Robot.” Based on Peter Brown’s beloved and award-winning novel, this film is set to premiere exclusively in theaters on September 27.

The newly released video provides a fascinating glimpse into the creative process behind “The Wild Robot,” showcasing how the team at DreamWorks Animation brought this heartwarming tale to life.

“The Wild Robot” follows the journey of Rozzium Unit 7134, or “Roz,” a robot shipwrecked on an uninhabited island. Roz must adapt to her new environment, forming unexpected bonds with the island’s animal inhabitants and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.

The film features an impressive voice cast, including Academy Award® winner Lupita Nyong’o as Roz, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Pedro Pascal as the fox Fink, Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara as the opossum Pinktail, Oscar® nominee Bill Nighy as the goose Longneck, Kit Connor as the gosling Brightbill, and Oscar® nominee Stephanie Hsu as the robot Vontra. The voice cast also includes Mark Hamill, Matt Berry, and Ving Rhames.

Written and directed by three-time Oscar® nominee Chris Sanders, known for his work on “How to Train Your Dragon,” “The Croods,” and Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch,” “The Wild Robot” explores themes of self-discovery, the intersection of technology and nature, and the meaning of life and connection to all living things.

Peter Brown’s original novel, first published in 2016, became a phenomenon, leading to a trilogy that includes “The Wild Robot Escapes” and “The Wild Robot Protects.” Brown’s work has earned numerous accolades, including a Caldecott Honor, a Horn Book Award, and two E.B. White Awards.
