In a remarkable resurgence, iconic singer-songwriter Kate Bush has been announced as an inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, following her return to the limelight after her 1980s hit “Running Up That Hill” was featured in season 4 of the popular TV series Stranger Things. Alongside Bush, the Rock Hall revealed an impressive list of inductees, including music legends Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Rage Against the Machine, and The Spinners.
John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, commented on the diverse range of artists being honored this year, stating, “This year’s incredible group of Inductees reflects the diverse artists and sounds that define rock & roll. We are honored that this November’s Induction Ceremony in New York will coincide with two milestones in music culture; the 90th birthday of Willie Nelson and the 50th Anniversary of the birth of Hip Hop.”
The 38th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is set to take place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The event will also recognize influential figures in the music industry with various awards. DJ Kool Herc and pioneering rock guitarist Link Wray will receive the Musical Influence Awards, while Chaka Khan, Al Kooper, and Bernie Taupin will be bestowed with Musical Excellence Awards. Soul Train creator, producer, and host Don Cornelius will be honored with the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
