Two days after telling fans she has cancer, HAchubby spent part of her Saturday stream telling the whole story for the first time, from the pain she first felt three years ago to the scan that found far more than anyone expected.
She said her doctors have told her the cancer is an aggressive mature B-cell lymphoma, a form of blood cancer, and that it has produced multiple tumors rather than a single one. She believes the tumors are all on one side of her body, but she was clear that the full picture is not in yet. “I don’t know the stage,” she said. “I don’t know how serious.” More blood tests and biopsies are ahead to answer both questions.
The road to that diagnosis started about three years ago, when she began feeling pain in one specific spot for a few days at a time before it faded. She meant to have her whole body checked before moving to Austin, but time ran out and only some tests got done, a gap she now calls a big mistake. Her advice to viewers was direct: if you feel a strange pain, even a quiet one, get it checked right away.
Four months ago, her father was diagnosed with leukemia, a different blood cancer from her own. About a month after his diagnosis, her pain changed. It became stronger, and instead of fading in a few days it stayed for a full month, through a work trip to Boston. She first assumed it was tied to her period, and by the time she was back in Austin she told a friend she needed to find a hospital.
Finding care was not simple. She was paying out of pocket, and several hospitals turned her away before a friend helped her find one that would see her. An urgent care doctor first told her it was probably nothing serious and that medicine would take care of it. The doctor she saw next ordered a single scan, but the imaging center suggested two, and her friend insisted on doing both. She credits that insistence with saving her life, because the added scan is the one that revealed everything.
When the scans were done, the mood in the room changed. A second doctor examined her, told her they had found more going on in her body and that it looked serious, and recommended a biopsy that same day. She agreed on the spot, including the $750 out-of-pocket cost. A viewer had covered the $400 cost of her earlier doctor visit.
Saturday’s stream filled in the backstory behind the announcement she made earlier this week, when she told fans she would travel to Korea for treatment. After the stream, she shared a short written update on X. She has arrived in Korea safely, and while the night was for her friend CharmingJo’s wedding, the plan is now in front of her: the hospital opens tomorrow, and treatment begins. Because she posted on Sunday afternoon Korea time, her tomorrow falls on Monday. Her hospital is four hours from the capital, she noted, which will make it hard for her friends to visit her.

She has said she plans to keep streaming from Korea during treatment. Fans who want to follow along and support her can find her on Twitch.
