Harry and Hagrid are growing something new, and it has nothing to do with Hogwarts.
Dominic McLaughlin and Nick Frost, who play Harry Potter and Rubeus Hagrid in HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series, whose Christmas Day premiere is now just a few months away, lead the cast of Grow, a family comedy arriving on Peacock October 1.
McLaughlin plays Oliver Gregory, the sensitive best friend of Charlie (Priya-Rose Brookwell), a young girl with an extraordinary gift for growing plants. Golda Rosheuvel (Bridgerton) stars as Dinah Little, a no-nonsense farmer who takes in her abandoned niece. Frost plays Arlo, an eccentric local grower.
The story centers on the town’s fiercely competitive giant pumpkin contest, and Charlie’s gift quietly mirrors her own longing to feel seen and loved. It is a warm, funny little film that has already won over festival audiences, picking up the Humanitas Prize for Family Feature Film and the Children’s Jury Award for Best Feature Film at the Zlin Film Festival.
Directed by John McPhail (Anna and the Apocalypse), the film also features Tim McInnerny, Jane Horrocks, Alan Carr, Joe Wilkinson, Kathryn Drysdale, Fisayo Akinade, Sharon Rooney and Jeremy Swift.
