Emily Linge has released a tribute to Dolly Parton, posting an acoustic cover of “I Will Always Love You” in honor of the country icon. The eighteen year old British Norwegian singer and songwriter, who was born and raised in Dubai, shared the stripped down rendition today, dedicating the performance to Parton’s memory following her recent passing. Mix and mastering on the tribute came from Elvis Garagic at MORE Studios in Dubai.
Linge has built a following covering songs across genres, from Beatles classics to contemporary hits, and her take on Parton’s signature ballad leans into the same intimate, acoustic style that has defined much of her catalog. In the caption accompanying the release, Linge called it a small tribute to “the incredible Dolly Parton,” writing that she will always love her and wishing her rest in love.
The cover arrives as tributes to Parton continue to pour in from across the entertainment industry following her death and burial, with artists and public figures reflecting on her decades long influence on country music and beyond. Linge’s version adds a new generation’s voice to that chorus, introducing one of Parton’s most enduring songs to her own audience while paying respect to the woman who wrote it.
