Alice Halsey has landed her first major industry nomination, picking up a nod for Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series at the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards for her portrayal of Rachel Black on Days of Our Lives. She shares the category with Braedyn Bruner and Giovanni Mazza of General Hospital, castmate Al Calderon, and Ambyr Michelle and Arielle Prepetit of Beyond the Gates. Winners will be announced live on October 30, streaming at watch.theemmys.tv and via the official Emmys apps.
For longtime TDN readers, this nomination feels like the natural next chapter of a story we have been following closely all year. Halsey has quietly built one of the busiest and most impressive résumés in young Hollywood in 2026, and this site tracked that rise well before the Emmy announcement made headlines elsewhere. Our coverage of Netflix’s new adaptation of Little House on the Prairie put Halsey’s name front and center from the moment she was cast as Laura Ingalls, and our critical reception roundups following the show’s July 9 premiere singled out her performance, alongside co-star Skywalker Hughes, as one of the strongest of the new season.
What makes this Emmy recognition especially bittersweet is that it arrives for a role Halsey had already left behind. She took over as Rachel Black in April 2025 and filmed 56 episodes over nine months before wrapping the part to take on Little House on the Prairie full time. Because Days of Our Lives tapes so far ahead of its Peacock release, Halsey’s final on-air episode did not air until March 4, 2026, and the character has since been recast. In other words, by the time this nomination was announced, Halsey had already moved on to the prairie, making the recognition feel less like a spotlight on a current role and more like a well-earned parting gift for a performance that clearly left a mark.
The Outstanding Emerging Talent category exists to spotlight newer talent making a real impact in daytime drama, and this year’s lineup shows just how competitive that field has become across ABC, CBS, and Peacock’s daytime slates. Halsey’s nomination puts her in the same conversation as established powerhouse General Hospital and newcomer Beyond the Gates, a strong signal of how much of a mark she left on the Days of Our Lives cast in her relatively short run.
TDN will keep following Halsey’s Little House on the Prairie storyline as the show heads toward its already confirmed second season, and we will be watching closely as the Daytime Emmys ceremony draws nearer this October. Congratulations to Alice Halsey on a nomination that has been a long time coming.
