Disney Cruise Line is set to debut a new float in the upcoming 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 28, 2024. The float, titled “Magic Meets the Seas,” will highlight Disney’s expanding cruise fleet, featuring the bows of eight Disney ships. The centerpiece of the float will be the latest addition to the fleet, Disney Treasure.
The float will also include live performances with well-known Disney characters such as Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie Mouse, alongside popular characters from films like Coco, Moana, and Beauty and the Beast. Additionally, the float will feature the debut of Disney Treasure‘s anthem, “Live the Adventure,” which adds a musical element to the display.
While Disney’s float is garnering attention, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade remains a larger cultural event that attracts a wide variety of performances and floats, including contributions from Broadway shows and groups like the Marching Pride of North Alabama. The annual event continues to serve as a platform for showcasing different aspects of American entertainment and culture.
The announcement of Disney’s new float has sparked discussions on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where fans and media outlets have shared details about the float’s design and what it symbolizes for Disney Cruise Line’s future.
As the countdown to Thanksgiving continues, anticipation builds not only for Disney’s new float but for the many other performances and appearances that make this parade an annual highlight for millions of viewers.
