Great American Pure Flix has announced the world premiere of its original movie, “The Engagement Plan,” set to premiere exclusively on Thursday, August 29, at 8 p.m. ET. The film will also air on Great American Family on Saturday, September 7, at 8 p.m. ET. This romantic comedy features an ensemble cast including Jack Schumacher, Ted McGinley, Mia Pollini, Eva LaRue, Emily Topper, Eric Lutz, Judd Nelson, and Faith Ford.
“The Engagement Plan” tells the story of Wade, portrayed by Jack Schumacher, a man who prides himself on his meticulous planning skills. Wade has orchestrated an elaborate proposal for his girlfriend, Kayla, played by Mia Pollini. He plans to pop the question with a 3-carat diamond ring at a luxurious setup at the Waldorf. However, his plan takes an unexpected turn when Kayla asks him to join her at her family’s farm to help with the birth of a calf. This sudden change of setting leads to a series of humorous and unforeseen events.
At the farm, Wade finds himself out of his element as he tries to impress Kayla’s parents, Ed (Ted McGinley) and Mama Marilyn (Faith Ford), who have their doubts about him. Adding to his challenges is Kayla’s ex-boyfriend, who is determined to prove Wade is not the right match for her.
Directed by Brenton Earley, the film is based on a screenplay written by Jim Frye and Luke Cheeseman. The executive producers are Jim Ameduri, Kendall Baldwin, Michael Scott, David A. R. White, and Anna Zielinski, with Brenton Earley also serving as the producer.
