Lauren Graham, known for her iconic role in “Gilmore Girls”, has joined the cast of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”, a new holiday film adaptation of Barbara Robinson’s classic book. Set for a November 15 theatrical release by Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company, the film brings Graham back to the screen not only as the narrator but also in a special cameo appearance.
Graham joins talent from the hit series “The Chosen”, including Kirk B.R. Woller, Vanessa Benavente, and Elizabeth Tabish, who play key roles as Reverend Hopkins, a first-grade teacher, and the church lady Mrs. Grady. Judy Greer portrays Grace, the pageant director, with Pete Holmes as her husband Bob.
With a screenplay written in collaboration by Darin McDaniel, Platte Clark, Ryan Swanson and Dallas Jenkins, who also directs, the film promises humor and heartwarming moments. Producers Kevin Downes and Daryl Lefever expressed excitement over Graham’s involvement, noting they have been fans for over two decades.
Jenkins shared, “Having prepared for this movie for over fifteen years, I’m thrilled to see it come to life with such a talented cast.”
With Lauren Graham ushering in the Christmas spirit, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” looks to capture fans old and new.
