The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced the 2023 group of creatives selected for its BAFTA Breakthrough initiative. This year marks the 10th anniversary for the program aimed at spotlighting emerging talent across film, television, and games.
The new Breakthrough cohort includes 42 creatives spanning the UK, US and India. Notable names include Bella Ramsey, star of the acclaimed series The Last of Us, as well as Charlotte Regan, writer/director of the critically praised indie film Scrapper.
Over the past decade, the BAFTA Breakthrough program has helped launch the careers of some of the entertainment industry’s biggest rising talents.
The year-long program provides tailored mentorship, networking opportunities, voting BAFTA membership, and access to key industry events with the goal of helping these creative “breakthroughs” reach the next level.
BAFTA CEO Jane Millichip praised the new cohort, saying “This year’s group is really impressive…”
