Get ready, Star Trek fans! Paramount+ has just given the green light for an exciting new addition to the ever-expanding Star Trek universe. Introducing ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy,’ a fresh, young adult-oriented series set to begin production in 2024.

‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ promises to take viewers on a thrilling ride as it follows the lives and adventures of a new generation of Starfleet cadets. Set in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy, the series explores their journey as they come of age and strive to achieve their dreams.

Paramount+ has revealed that the show will focus on a diverse group of young cadets who join forces to pursue their common goals of hope, optimism, and a brighter future. Under the watchful gaze of their highly-skilled instructors, these cadets will learn what it takes to become exemplary Starfleet officers. Along the way, they’ll experience budding friendships, fierce rivalries, and even first loves. All the while, a new enemy looms on the horizon, posing a threat not only to the Academy but also to the Federation itself.

In an official statement, co-showrunners and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau announced the reopening of Starfleet Academy to aspiring cadets aged 16 Earth years or older (or species equivalent). They described the program as rigorous and demanding, with top-tier instructors and an unprecedented level of diversity among its students.

The duo invited those who share the values of friendship, honor, and devotion to a cause greater than oneself to apply and join a visionary new generation of cadets. They concluded their announcement with a hopeful call to action, stating, “Apply today! Ex Astris, Scientia!”

‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ is the newest addition to the Star Trek family on Paramount+, joining an already impressive lineup that includes Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Prodigy, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
