Lisa Loring, the Original Live-Action Wednesday Addams Passes Away at 64

NOTE: This article is 2 months old and may not include the most recent information.

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Lisa Loring, the actress best known for her role as Wednesday Addams in the original live-action Addams Family series. Loring passed away at the age of 64 after suffering a massive stroke brought on by smoking and high blood pressure.

Lisa Loring was not only a talented actress but also a beautiful, kind and loving mother. Her legacy in the entertainment industry and in the hearts of her family and friends will continue to live on.

Wednesday Addams, the character Loring brought to life, has become an iconic figure in pop culture and a beloved figure for generations of fans. In a Season 2 episode of The Addams Family, Loring’s Wednesday taught Lurch her signature shuffle, “The Drew,” which has recently gained online traction.

Jenna Ortega, who played Wednesday in the new Tim Burton Netflix series, paid tribute to Loring by incorporating her shuffle into the show. “I knew there were certain things I wanted to do. I paid homage to Lisa Loring, the first Wednesday Addams. I did a little bit of her shuffle that she does,” Ortega said in an appearance on The Tonight Show.

Loring also had a successful career outside of The Addams Family, appearing in shows such as As the World Turns, Barnaby Jones, Fantasy Island, The Girl from U.N.C.L.E. and The Phyllis Diller Show.

Lisa Loring may be gone, but her spirit, her talent and her character will continue to live on. We send our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Lisa. You will be deeply missed.
