Actress Jennifer Lawrence, who played the lead role of Katniss Everdeen in the original films, expressed her surprise at the news in an interview with The New York Times, saying “That makes me feel old as mold.” West Side Story star Rachel Zegler has been cast as Lucy Gray Baird in the new film.
In an interview, Jennifer Lawrence was asked about the possibility of a remake of the original Hunger Games films. She responded, “I remember being 21 and thinking, ‘My God, one day they’ll redo and remake them. But I’ll be so old by then! I’ll be dead!'”
