Ratings for the second season premiere of “Chucky” were the show’s best ever.
The opening episode of Season 2 of “Chucky” attracted a massive audience who are sure to return to see what kind of mayhem the killer doll will do next.
Oct. 5’s return of “Chucky” on USA Network and SYFY drew 675,000 total viewers, including 385,000 in the adults aged 18-49 demographic, amid a TV and film environment rife with scary villains and frightening dolls. When compared to the series debut a year earlier, the numbers reflect a significant rise of 15% and 3%, respectively. Charles Lee Ray’s jubilant return to Hackensack, New Jersey, after many years away, undoubtedly drew a lot of attention in Season 1 and piqued viewers’ interest enough to return to see him commit murder.
These results will please not just those who like the “Child’s Play” series, but also series creator Don Mancini, who recently informed the audience at New York Comic Con that he intends to create more “Chucky” media, including sequels, prequels, and even a musical. But he pointed out that the audience’s interest and enthusiasm would be the most important element in deciding whether or not he gets to accomplish it.
The USA Network and SYFY premiere brand new episodes of “Chucky” every Wednesday at 9/8c.
