Netflix’s film adaption of August Wilson’s play, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom officially begins streaming today (Dec 18). The film is already receiving early Oscar buzz, unsurprisingly considering its all-star cast: Viola Davis, Chadwick Boseman, Michael Potts, Glynn Turman and Colman Domingo. Just as the play intends, this film speaks to some big issues in the Black Community like faith, biblical justice, racial discrimination, and the power in overcoming life’s hardships.
In this clip below get a sneak preview of Chadwick Boseman in his final movie role.
