The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards nominations have been announced, and the race is heating up! This year’s top contenders include ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ with six nominations in the film category, tying with ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘The Last of Us,’ which lead the pack on the scripted television side with six noms each. Reality TV show nominations are headlined by Jersey Shore Family Vacation, RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Vanderpump Rules, each scoring two nominations.

In 2022, MTV combined scripted and unscripted nominees into one star-studded event, with Spider-Man: No Way Home and HBO’s Euphoria taking home the top honors for film and television. This year, two new categories have been added: Best Reality On-Screen Team and Best Kick-Ass Cast.

The list of first-time nominees is long and diverse, featuring talented actors and musicians like Anna Torv, Austin Butler, Bad Bunny, Beatrice Grannò, Bella Ramsey, Cara Delevingne, Courteney Cox, and many more.

Drew Barrymore will be hosting the 2023 Movie & TV Awards, which will air live on MTV on May 7th from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. Fans can start voting for their favorites at vote.mtv.com through April 17th at 6 PM ET.

The executive producers for this year’s awards are MTV’s Bruce Gillmer, Wendy Plaut, and Vanessa Whitewolf, as well as Den of Thieves’ Jesse Ignjatovic and Barb Bialkowski. Jackie Barba and Alicia Portugal serve as Executives in Charge of Production, while Lisa Lauricella takes on the role of Music Talent Executive.

This year’s nominations feature an exciting mix of movies and TV shows, as well as standout performances by actors and musicians. From Avatar: The Way of Water to Yellowstone, the competition is fierce, and we can’t wait to see who takes home the gold. So, mark your calendars and get ready for a night of glitz, glamour, and entertainment at the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards!
