Exciting news for fans of HBO’s hit drama, “The Last of Us”! The show has found its location for season 2, and it’s Vancouver, British Columbia. This revelation may provide some clues about the upcoming season’s storyline and setting.

As the show continues to follow the journey of Joel (Pedro Pascal) and his mission to protect Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl who might be the last hope for humanity after a global pandemic, the choice of Vancouver might have special significance. Fans of the 2013 video game that inspired the series will recognize that a significant portion of the story in Part II takes place in the Pacific Northwest.

Although HBO has not revealed specific details about the second season’s plot or when production will commence, the chosen location is a promising hint. The first season began filming in July 2021 in Calgary, Alberta, where various locations within the province doubled as Texas, Wyoming, and Missouri for the post-apocalyptic tale.

The Last of Us made a significant impact on viewers, earning a renewal for the second season after airing just two episodes. It even scored the second-largest premiere since Boardwalk Empire’s launch in 2010, following House of the Dragon.

Creators and executive producers Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann addressed the show’s evolution during a discussion with reporters. They hinted at the possibility of encountering more infected individuals in the upcoming season, emphasizing the importance of balancing the narrative not just within individual episodes but also throughout the series.

With the production of The Last of Us Season 2 set to take place in Vancouver, anticipation builds as fans eagerly await new adventures and challenges for Joel and Ellie. The show is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television, and the production companies involved are PlayStation Productions, Word Games, The Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog.
