Bella Ramsey Struggles to Shake Off American Accent After Starring in ‘The Last of Us’

NOTE: This article is 9 months old and may not include the most recent information.

In a recent interview with the BBC, British actor Bella Ramsey opened up about their role as Ellie in the TV series “The Last of Us.” Based on a popular post-apocalyptic video game, the show follows the journey of Joel and Ellie as they travel across America in search of a cure for a virus that has infected the world.

Describing the show as a mix of beauty and violence, Bella shared that their character and Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, initially do not like each other, but their relationship develops into a love story that resembles a father-daughter dynamic. The chemistry between the two characters can be seen in the clip shown during the interview.

Bella also admitted to being scared while filming scenes with zombie-like creatures, which are quick and terrifying. They even joked that their dog was more afraid of a guy dressed up as Super Mario than the clickers in the show.

Interestingly, Bella struggled to shake off their American accent after playing the role of Ellie. They revealed that they would often wake up speaking in an American accent and found themselves slipping into it quite easily when around people with American accents. Despite the challenge, they remain determined to stay true to their identity.
