WATCH: The Detty Sisters Cover Dolly Parton’s “Coat Of Many Colors”

Country music legend Dolly Parton has gained an entirely new generation of fans thanks to her recent made-for-tv movies “Coat Of Many Colors” and the sequel “Christmas Of Many Colors”. Later this month Dolly Parton once again offers family entertainment with the release of the new anthology series “Heartstrings” exclusively on Netflix. So when we heard The Detty Sisters (who we have posted about previously) had released a music video cover of the song “Coat of Many Colors” we had to share it with you! Posted to their official Facebook last week the post shares the touching story behind the music video.

Hey Y ‘all! Here is our new video to the song “Coat of Many Colors”! This song was written by Dolly Parton and is from our new album titled “Old Highway”. Cadie learned this song from the movie “Coat of Many Colors”, this is her favorite movie and would love to one day meet Dolly. This movie has such a great message, too many people today believe happiness comes from money. Although we may not all be rich, we have the opportunity to be rich in love with Jesus in our hearts. We hope this song blesses you as much as it did us to record it.

From the time Cadie saw the movie she wanted a coat just like Dolly’s and Joseph’s in the Bible. After searching for a coat like the one in the movie, we found someone who makes them. A special thank you to Ivey Rose Boutique in Soddy Daisy, TN. Who also handmade the little Dolly Doll in the video.

Cadie is only learning to play the guitar, not actually playing it for the song. However you can’t have a Dolly video without the guitar!
