Hilary Duff made an appearance at the D23 Expo where she shared some details about the upcoming Lizzie McGuire revival that is set to premiere on the upcoming Disney + streaming service. Hillary began the remarks by saying that it felt good to be home and went on to reveal that we will see grown-up Lizzie McGuire still dealing with internal struggles and the fan-favorite 13-year-old animated Lizzie will still be inside her mind and a major part of the new series.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight Hilary went on to say that she has known about the revival for a few months and it has been difficult for her to keep it under wraps. Lizzie will be 30 years old and living in Brooklyn and reveals that the chances are very likely we will see other cast members including Miranda, Gordo, and others but she can’t share many details. Duff says she got the blessing from TV Land to reprise her iconic Disney Channel role adding that the network and fellow “Younger” castmates were excited for her.
When asked if her 7-year-old son was a “Lizzie McGuire” fan yet, Duff told ET that he has seen some clips of the original series on YouTube she thinks that he might be getting into it.
