On Monday (March 25) World Wrestling Entertainment officially announced what had been heavily rumored for months the news that women wrestlers would be headlining the biggest show in professional wrestling known as WrestleMania. For 35 years WrestleMania has been known as the “Super Bowl of professional wrestling” has been the Pinnacle of World Wrestling Entertainment’s success since the 1980s. Now, for the first time in history women will be headlining the biggest event of the year and those involved have spoken out about what it means to be making history in wrestling. Ronda Rousey former UFC fighter and now WWE Superstar along with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch appeared on ESPN SportsCenter Tuesday morning to discuss the news.
